Delivered to Declare

Our personal deliverances should become public

Every person who knows Jesus faces challenges. Life does not give warnings. It just places you in situations you are meant to overcome. As a Christian, I have learned that we have all been delivered from something. Some were delivered from anger, others from pain, and some even from situations that felt like life or death. My own story of adoption is part of that picture. Being adopted from Ethiopia was a journey of loss, longing, and hope, but I can see now how God’s hand was guiding every step.

Deliverance comes at a cost. The ultimate cost was paid on the cross. Jesus gave His life so that each of us could experience freedom, restoration, and purpose. My adoption story points to that same truth. Just as I was rescued from a life I did not choose, we are all rescued through Christ no matter our past, our struggles, or our circumstances.

Through my preaching and writing, I want to remind others that deliverance is not only personal but also something to declare. God has delivered you too, and your story like mine is meant to bring hope to others. Every challenge, every heartbreak, every victory is an opportunity to see His faithfulness and to point others to the One who delivers.

My fellow adoptees, I want to encourage anyone reading this. You should declare your story. It was written by an almighty God who is a master artist. He creates beauty out of ashes. I am still working through the story He wrote for me, but as I share it, others see Jesus. Use your story for the glory of God. Your experiences, even the painful ones, have the power to bring hope and encouragement to people who are struggling or searching for meaning. When you step out in faith and share what God has done in your life, you open doors for conversation, connection, and change. People around you will see His faithfulness and begin to understand that no matter their circumstances, God is at work in their lives as well. By sharing your story, you are not just telling your past, you are pointing others to the hope, restoration, and love that only Christ can give. You are helping people see that God can take any situation, no matter how broken or confusing, and turn it into something beautiful for His glory. When you share your story, you are declaring to others that Jesus is enough. Be bold.
